The Brinkhaus Down Surround pillow is made exactly as described, with a central tubular core case which is filled with a feather and down mixture. This is surrounded by a case of pure down thus giving real softness at the point of contact yet a firmness that comes from the central core. Measuring 50 x 75cm, the casing of the pillow is 100% Egyptian long staple cotton and has been treated with the Brinkhaus medicott process.

Down is soft and three dimensional, feathers are two dimensional harder and heavier. Mixtures of the two are used by Brinkhaus to create different pillow fillings from the delicate softness of pure down to firmer pillows containing increasing feather content.
