London based Orla Keily qualified as a textile designer from Dublin National College of Arts & Design before doing a Masters in knitwear at Royal College of Art in London. She was first commissioned by Harrods in 1993 for a range of accessories and the Orla Keily label was born. From there she moved to fashion and homewares, constantly expanding. Now, twice a year, she develops a unique print at her design studio in Clapham.

Her inspiration comes from the 60’s and 70’s. She says “we always make our design clean and modern and we are all about colour, we’re about taking something from the past and moving it forward”.

Her designs are iconic, and with the distinctive style comes longevity. She shows her love of pattern, colour, and rhythm. Instinctive graphic design is simple and stylised with a sense of nostalgia, making the patterns comforting and up lifting.
