Wusthof Dreizackwerk of Solingen, Germany is one of the world's leading manufacturers of quality cutlery. In modern production facilities more than 300 dedicated employees combine old-world traditions with state-of-the-art technologies to achieve unmatched perfection.
A company with a rich heritage, the Wusthof factory was listed as early as 1894 in official documents of the Duchy of Berg. The Trident trademark - the legendary symbol of quality was registered with the Imperial Patent Office in Berlin in 1895. Today the Wusthof knives trademark is protected and recognised in almost every country in the world.
Each Wusthof knife is precision forged from a single piece of chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel. This specialised high carbon stain resistant alloy ensures that the critical characteristics of each Wusthof knife are there, including: razor sharp, long lasting cutting edge, easily restorable edge, high stain resistance.
Wustof knives are created in 40 major manufacturing steps from forging to tempering, to grinding and polishing. Traditional skills and the latest robotronics continue the grinding and polishing operation until the final cutting edge is applied at the most appropriate blade angle.
Since 1814 Wusthof has set the standard for designing and manufacturing precision-forged knives. Today the family business is in its seventh generation of ownership, under the management of Harold Wusthof. Production follows strict rules in order to achieve the finest quality, while at the same time remaining environmentally friendly.
Today more than 350 forged Wusthof knives are available in the Wusthof assortment, along with cutting boards, knife blocks, kitchen tools and scissors all bearing the famous trident logo- a symbol of form, function, and uncompromising quality.
